Under the ! direction of a Radiologist, performs radiographic procedures at a technical level but requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Produces quality images according to policy and can achieve quality performance in new routines, procedures and skills for all patients including adult, pediatric, and newborn patients. The Multi Modality Technologist performs at least one other modality in the department. Qualifying modalities include: Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, and/or Mammograph
Essential Duties:
Positions and transfers patients including adult, pediatric and newborn patients.
Provides immobilization devices as required.
Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
Selects and operates equipment as directed for all patient! s including adult, pediatric and newborn patients.
De! velops film and loads radiographic cassettes.
Has thorough understanding of all standard radiology exams, positioning, and views required to accomplish ordered exam.
Has thorough understanding of radiation safety in the radiology department so as to provide optimum radiation safety to patients, personnel and one's self.
Has thorough understanding in the use of the film badge.
Has thorough understanding of the flow of paperwork for film set up, pulling old films, record book, patient information, scheduling and filing.
Assists physician in administering of opaque media.
Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the quality performance of routine or special procedures and skills for all patients including adult, pediatric and newborn patients.

In the absence of the supervisor or senior technologist, may be designated as a! cting supervisor.
Reads staff meeting minutes on changes in the Imaging Department.
Has an indepth knowledge of McKesson PACS. Inputs and stores data as necessary to perform imaging studies. Resolves all QA issues prior to sending to a radiologist. Toubleshoots problems and informs superusers and/or PACS administrator as needed.
Is responsible for department issued cell phone. Charges phone on a daily basis. Wears phone at all times while at work or on call. Ensures proper care of cell phone.
Assists in performing first aid and has current CPR card.
Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination.
Initiates and actuates improved methods of services.
Makes effort to keep material and equipment waste to a minimum.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administration.
Maintains adequate records as directed.
Demonstrates ability to constructively pla! n and use time. Anticipates work flow as evidenced by completion of ass! ignment in allotted time.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness.
Secures and returns supplies.
Rotates as required on call schedule.
Interacts professionally with patient/family. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement acitivities.
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
Adheres to attendance policies (evidenced by no written warnings for attendance)
Completes other duties as assigned.
Verifies and edits personal information such as address, emergency contacts, direct deposit, and W4 information online via HR Payroll Connection.
Qualifications
Education:
High School graduate.
Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school and meets the requirements for registry by the ARRT
License/Certification:
ARRT-R certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
