Career Opportunities for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Faculty at The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing
The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing is seeking faculty who hold an earned doctorate (PhD or DNP) and are interested developing their career in education, research/scholarship, and/or practice. We seek inspirational faculty who are devoted to innovative teaching, interprofessional education, and scholarship.
UNMC is an academic health science center and offers outstanding opportunities for interdisciplinary research. At a time when many colleges and universities struggle with the effects of the economic downturn, Omaha Nebraska and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, in particular, continue to grow. This year the CON opened a $15 million addition to our building and a $10 million new facility in Norfolk, Nebraska. Our Chancellor, Dr. Harold Maurer has raised over $250 million dollars in private donations over the past 5 years and these efforts are abundantly evident on our campus!
The College of Nursing is ranked in the top 25% of graduate nursing programs and was 25 th in NIH funding in 2008. Pediatric content and experiences are threaded throughout our new integrated conceptual undergraduate program. We have a graduate Pediatric NP specialty, but we need to produce more research in the area of Pediatrics and to add faculty who are experts in this area to keep it strong.
Dean Virginia Tilden is nationally known for her research in end of life care. She is highly supportive in protecting faculty time for practice and research. Our newly remodeled Niedfelt Nursing Research Center provides faculty with comprehensive assistance in their scholarly work. The College of Nursing also features the Morehead Center for Nursing Practice under the direction of Dr. Linda Sather. This endowed centerÂ's mission is to promote innovative advanced nursing practice models across the state.
