Job Description:

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services coordinates with executive leadership and is responsi ble for the development and implementation of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services. You will be responsible for adhering to program policies/procedures and evaluate mechanisms to ensure consistency with the regulatory laws and standards. You will manage the clinical, financial, and administrative functioning of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services and provide direct care services to families and youth referred for services not limited to but including clinical assessments, individual, group and family therapy. Additionally, you will market outpatient services to pediatricians, schools, or other service agencies to establish and maintain a referral base. You will be responsible to supervise the insurance and billing functions for Outpatient Behavioral Health Services and to provide clinical training as designated to other Boys Town personnel. You will provide individual and group supervision to clinical staff on a weekly basis.

Please note that Grand Island, NE is a loan forgiveness location.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities of the Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Service:
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, experience in directing behavioral health operations, strategic and operational planning, budget planning and monitoring, and strong system/program design.
  • Possess strong data analysis skills and knowledge of related computer systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate orally and in writing with a variety of individuals ranging from administrator and staff to health care professionals.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness, objectivity, a strong desire to help others.
  • Thorough knowledge of psychology and treatment options available to patients.
  • Ability to design and complete department studies, evaluation, projects, and behavioral research, providing leadership and direction.
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Serves as a role model in carrying out the Boys Town mission.
Requirements of the job:
  • Ph.D. in psychology or related field.
  • 4 years of post doctoral experience including progressive leadership directing complex mental health services and overseeing work of clinicians preferred
  • Licensed as or ability to obtain license as a psychologist in the state of Nebraska
  • Listed as a provider in the National Register of Health Care Providers preferred
  • Progressive leadership experience directing complex mental health service delivery systems including outpatient as well as overall budget, policy
  • Experience as a supervisor overseeing clinical work of other clinicians;
  • Experience and training in behavioral pediatrics preferred
  • Available for local and overnight travel as necessary;
