The primary duties of this RN will be:
- assessing patients with vascular access needs
- will insert PICC lines as per physician's orders
- will assist RN's with difficult IV starts
- will monitor pateints for some Radiologic procedures
New graduate RN's are not being considered for this position.

Essential Duties:
Demonstrates competence to perform the core responsibilities of the staff nurse in the Radiology Department.
Demonstrates compet! ency in basic clinical procedures performed in the Radiology D! epartment according to the established nursing policy.
Implements the physician's medical orders in accordance with required time frames and nursing policy.
Complies with specific policies and procedures and assignments concerning safety, infection control, codes, and internal/external disasters.
Recognizes and identifies critical changes in patient's status which requires immediate action.
Promotes continuity of patient care by providing a thorough report to receiving units when patient is transferred.
Performs scrub and circulatory functions during procedures.
Anticipates needs of procedure by having room and patient prepared and equipment and supplies reading according to physician's protocol.
Anticipates physician's needs throughout procedure, assisting as directed.
Communicates accurate information in a timely manner concerning patient condition or need to physician/other health care professionals ! as documented in patient's record.
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize nursing interventions commensurate with patient's needs as measured by observation and/or documentation in patient's record.
Provides a safe patient environment free from hazards by complying with hospital safety policies and procedures.
Serves as a patient advocate (i.e preventing multiple sticks on patient for IV's or phlebotomy, promoting patient rest by monitoring activities of others) based on patient's needs.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
A BSN must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
Experience:
Previous nursing experience required with critical care experience preferred.
Critical care training and Emergency Room treatment experience preferred.
License/Certification:
Current state RN license required.
BLS certification requi! red.
ACLS required; may be obtained following hire if needed. !
