Provides medical assessments, treatments and transportation to all age g! roups, in and out of hospital settings, through approved protocols or under the

direction and/or supervision of physicians, physician assistants, or registered nurses in support of the Nursing Vision.

Essential Duties:
1. Assesses, treats and provides transportation to patients according to established Emergency Medical Services rules and regulations and hospital policies, independently, collaboratively or under the supervision of physicians, physician assistants, or registered nurses and according to the scopes of practice allowed by the State of Nebraska and Good Samaritan Health Systems.

2. Provides, assists with or participates in education for team members and community.

3. Performs and ensures safe, knowledgeable age-specific patient care in a holistic manner.

4. Performs value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction.

5. Performs other related duties as as! signed or requested.

Qualifications

Educa! tion:
Graduate of an EMT, EMT-I or Paramedic training program acknowledged by the State of Nebraska Department of Human Services, Division of Regulation & Licensure.

For EMT: Completion of the Good Samaritan Hospital Medication Aide training program within three months of hire.

Experience:
One year experience preferred.

License/Certification:
Active Nebraska EMT, EMT-I or Paramedic license required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

For EMT & EMT-I: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.

For Paramedic: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within six months of employment.

Current drivers license, excellent driving history, and ability to oper! ate an ambulance in emergency situations required.

For EMT: State of Nebraska Medication Aide certification required within three months of hire.
