Responsible for being a public relations agent and assisting patients with questions on their accounts; insurance claims and statement balances. Responsible for using collection techniques to keep accounts receivable current including monitoring for delinquent payments from insurance companies and/or patients. Responsible for using techniques to keep account credits current.
Job Function :
Provide excellent customer service to all customers Documents all actions and maintains permanent record of patient accounts Identifies and corrects patient account errors including insurance errors Confirms all worker's compensation claims with employers Answers patient questions, inquiries, and concerns regarding their account Works with clinic management on patient billing and credit issues Assists with answering telephone, screening calls, and taking messages Participates in professional development activities Maintains strictest confidentiality Attends meetings as required Assists in the processing/follow up of all insurance claims Processes benefit correspondence, signature, and insurance forms Assists patients in completing all necessary forms from insurance companies Follows-up with insurance companies ensuring that coverage is approved
Prerequisites :
High school graduation or GED Associate degree in business preferred Minimum of six months in medical billing or billing education.
