This position is for the Labor and Delivery specialty area.
GENERAL SUMMARY :
The Registered Nurse (RN) staff is responsible ! for meeting patient’s priority needs by assessing, participating in interdisciplinary care planning, providing and / or delegating care and evaluating patients’ responses and progress toward clinical outcomes. The RN-Staff contributes to an efficient and effective work environment through activities including professional communication and documentation and/or resourcing of others.
The following duties are also required for the Labor and Delivery specialty area. Provides comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical patients, managing the patient experience on a continuum from antenatal testing through birth.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program required. BSN preferred. Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Nebraska required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Completion of fetal monitoring training. Must have Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification prior to working i! ndependently in Labor and Delivery.
Acute Care, Su! rgery: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year of hire. (Surgery - Must be Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified to monitor patients in PACU)
Emergency Department: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Course Certified (TNCC) within 1 year of hire. (Assigned to work as the ED nurse)
