  • Performs ultrasound procedures to adult and pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic an! d physiologic disorders.
  • Perform general radiography and radiography in surgery, producing diagnostic quality radiographs while practicing radiation safety.
  • Transports patients to and from the Radiology Department.
  • May need to assist in the starting of IV sites for contrast procedures.
  • Performs a variety of radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis and/or ultrasonography.
  • Positions patient to image the required anatomy for optimal results.
  • Enters proper technical parameters into the x-ray generating equipment to enhance visualization of the anatomy and/or sets up proper parameters on ultrasound equipment for best imaging per protocol.
  • Performs various procedures in imaging areas such as diagnostic, surgical, portable, CT, mammography, and ultrasound.
  • Performs accurate and safe operation of imaging equipment and follows established safety procedures in order to prote! ct the patient and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure o! r unnecessary exams.
  • Inputs the proper operation parameters to assure minimal retakes.
  • Operates the radiographic systems including the portable and C-arm utilizing knowledge that will provide the optimal image at the lowest achievable radiation level to the staff and patient.
  • Operates the CT system utilizing knowledge that will provide the optimal image at the lowest achievable radiation level to the staff and patient.
  • Operates the mammography system utilizing knowledge that will provide the optimal image at the lowest achievable radiation level to the staff and patient.
  • Operates ultrasound equipment utilizing knowledge that will provide optimal image by choosing proper transducer and imaging parameters.
  • Administers contrast media following established protocols.
  • Notifies supervisor of any conditions that may pose a hazard.
  • Assesses the patient's condition accurately by determining patient's ability to ! comply with the physical requirements of the examination to minimize patient or examination problems. Provides competent, safe and effective patient care.
  • Develops alternative methods to obtain required images and consults with radiologist in unusual circumstances to minimize problems.
  • Obtains written orders before performing exam.
  • Obtains patient medical history pertinent to the exam ordered and supplies the correct information to the radiologist/cardiologist.
  • Acquires clinical indication/contraindication for exams ordered.
  • Follows established radiation safety policies and procedures to protect patients and staff and performs in a manner that insures patient safety.
  • Demonstrates competency in the use of tele-radiology equipment and Computerized Radiography.
  • Schedules U/S, MRI, Radiography, Bone Density & CT exams per physician orders, working directly with the nursing and Radiology departments.
  • Cleans ! and organizes the x-ray room and storage room as needed.
  • Promo! tes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologist Technology program
  • Current licensure as a Radiology Technologist & Ultrasound Technologist
  • Must be available to take call and respond within 30 minutes
  • Previous experience as a Radiology Technologist preferred
  • Full-time position would be three (12) hour shifts per week; one day shift and two evening shifts
  • Position also includes rotating call, including week-end coverage
