Represents Childrenâs Hospital and looks for opportunities to promote clinical informatics solutions through an understanding of the roles of various pediatric medical specialties and inpatient care.
Manages clinical application concerns from physicians and works collaboratively with the CMIO and IT to deliver solutions of such issues.
Pro! vides presentations, develop training materials, trains and ed! ucates physicians and their staffs on the functions and capabilities of Childrenâs clinical informatics applications in a variety of settings (large-group, small group, one-on-one).
Coordinates regular meetings with residents and hospital-based physicians to demonstrate application functionality and to learn about opportunities for improvement and enhancement.

Advises members of the medical staff and resident staff to help them quickly learn new techniques to speed and augment their interactions with clinical informatics systems.

Working wi! th the IT application team, provides prompt, thorough and accurate feedback to physicians regarding problems and requests for enhanced application functionality.
Responsible for reviewing help desk requests from physicians in order to proactively identify problems areas and opportunities for further training or enhanced functionality.
Maintains a relationship with Super-users and clinical nursing leadership.
Responsible for gaining and maintaining technical expertise with Childrenâs clinical informatics applications at the level of a âSuper-userâ.
Attends and participates in the Physician Informatics Group (PIG) monthly meeting and other scheduled physician IT meetings.

Works with the Physician administration to participate in regular meetings with referring physicians to gather input on referral experiences and provide updates on clinical applications that can help keep the physician informed about his patient! s referred to Childrenâs Hospital.

Communicates complex concepts and issues effectively (written and oral) across all levels within the organization. With the CMIO, writes a monthly newsletter item for the Medical Staff Matters. Seeks and identifies other opportunities for effective one-to-many communication with physicians.
Working with the medical staff, the Universities academic departments, and the Quality and Patient Safety Resource Center, identifies ways in which IT can support outcomes research and demonstrate the value of clinical informatics.
Represents Childrenâs Hospital at local regional and national meetings as appropriate to promote Childrenâs IT efforts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelorâs degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or other clinical degree required.
Minimum of four years experience in a professional role working with physicians and/o! r physician relations required.
Experience/education in training/educating physicians or other professionals preferred
Experience with clinical applications (Eclipsys, McKesson, ChartMax, Epic) preferred.
