The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Child Development Center (CDC) Director CDC with day-to-day operations. Employee will be responsible for maintaining staffing rations, ensuring a safe and healthy environment and managing parent involvement both in and outside of the classroom.
Manages day-to-day operations of the Child Development Center. Consolidates duty roster from directorÂ's master schedule.
Ensures a safe and healthy environment. Performs ! safety and sanitation inspections.
Initiates action with Civil Engineering and the Custodial Contractor to correct all discrepancies immediately.
Ensures proper implementation of USDA food program.
Oversees collection of food program applications and parent information.
Works with the director in preparing and distributing parent brochures, handbooks, newsletters, and calendars.

At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-05) or equivalent.

Federal Time-In-Grade
(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-05 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.
The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1.
Knowledge of child development theory, methodology! , and practices relating to physical, intellectual, social, and nutritional development.
2.
Knowledge of family systems theory and practical application sufficient to provide technical information and/or guidance to a mixed state of professional and non-professional employees on and off base agencies and parents.
3.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret law, DoD/MAJCOM policies/directives and NAEYC accreditation standards/criteria related to childrenÂ's programs.
4.
Ability to communicate well with other both orally and in writing.
5.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
6.
Ability to prepare and conduct formal and informal briefings, compile and compose both quantative and narrative reports for a variety of agencies based on analyzing data and circumstances.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
:
Must have or complete requirements for food handlers, pediatric first aide, and infant-child CPR, First Aid, security and medical requirements.
Must be in good physical and mental health and free of communicable diseas! es, including tuberculosis.
Must develop working relationship with area agencies in the community and attend professional meetings as assigned.
Incumbent must possess maturity and judgment and be capable of handling emergency situations common in dealing with small child in the child development setting.
Must work an irregular tour of duty.
Will work in the classrooms and outside of classrooms depending on the varying needs of the program.
Must be able to lift on a regular and recurring basis, children weighing up to 40 pounds.
This position has been identified as having regular contact with children.
IAW Public Law 101-647, Section 231a, a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check will be completed on each person selected for this position.
